Q&T Welcomes Excellencies Ambassadors of Colombia, Argentina, Panama, Dominica

On November 5, 2025, Q&T Hi-tech Polymer welcomed Ambassadors from several South American nations to the Hoa Lac Hi-tech Park for a working session focused on cooperation in polymer banknote and secure substrate production. The visit reflects the increasing international interest in Vietnam’s advanced polymer technology and Q&T’s growing role in the global security printing industry.

Polymer Banknotes: A Strategic Global Trend

During the meeting, Mr. Luong Ngoc Anh, Chairman of Q&T, highlighted why polymer banknotes have become an important global direction for modern currency systems. Polymer substrates offer superior anti-counterfeiting features, longer durability, better cost-efficiency over the note’s lifecycle, and improved environmental performance.

He noted that despite the advantages, the global supply of polymer substrates remains concentrated among a few corporations. This creates dependency for many developing countries that wish to upgrade their currency systems. Q&T aims to help address this challenge by sharing technology and expertise under its motto “Together for Better.”

Q&T’s Proven Capabilities in Secure Polymer Technology

Q&T has successfully developed polymer substrate materials currently used by Vietnam’s National Banknote Printing Plant, demonstrating both quality and applicability. The company presented its advanced POLYSECURE® SHIELD technology, a multilayer structure integrating security elements within the substrate to increase durability and design flexibility.

Q&T has also secured international supply contracts and continues to expand cooperation with central banks and security printing partners. These achievements underline Q&T’s ambition to become a trusted global provider of high-security polymer materials.

Growing Interest from South American Partners

Ambassadors from Argentina, Colombia, Panama, and the Dominican Republic expressed strong interest in Q&T’s technology and discussed potential cooperation opportunities.

Argentina

Ambassador Marcos Antonio Bednarski shared Argentina’s current challenges, including inflation and the need for high-denomination notes. He stressed the importance of durable and secure currency solutions and expressed interest in understanding Q&T’s production capabilities and technological advantages.

Colombia

Ambassador Camila María Polo Floréz highlighted Colombia’s reliance on a single supplier for secure materials used in passports and ID documents. She emphasized the need for technological diversification and invited Q&T to explore potential cooperation and future investment opportunities in Colombia.

Panama

Ambassador Nubiela Yanarith Ayala Modes expressed Panama’s interest not only in polymer substrates for banknotes but also in secure materials for high-value documents such as seafarer certificates. She welcomed further discussions on cooperation, noting that Panama currently imports these materials from Europe.

Commitment to International Collaboration

Chairman Luong Ngoc Anh reaffirmed that Q&T is ready to collaborate broadly with global partners. The company is willing to share technology, offer technical support, and even consider establishing overseas production facilities when appropriate. He emphasised that strong international cooperation is essential for innovation and sustainable development in the security printing industry.

He also acknowledged the vital role of diplomats in facilitating connections, deepening mutual understanding, and supporting technological cooperation between nations.

Significance of Cooperation with South America

The meeting comes at a time when economic and technological ties between Vietnam and South America are expanding. As Vietnam’s international presence continues to grow, especially following its recognition as a Partner Country of BRICS, opportunities for cooperation between developing nations in high-tech sectors are increasing.

The Ambassadors expressed appreciation for Vietnam’s technological progress and recognized Q&T’s achievements as an example of the country’s rising innovation capacity. Cooperation in polymer currency production offers long-term benefits in strengthening financial security, modernizing currency systems, and promoting technological self-reliance.

Q&T’s Forward-Looking Vision

Q&T aims to position itself as a global leader in advanced polymer substrates for currency and high-security documents. By fostering partnerships across continents, the company seeks to contribute to safer, more durable, and more efficient monetary systems.

The working session with South American Ambassadors marks an important step in Q&T’s strategy to expand its global footprint. With its strong technological foundation and commitment to cooperation, Q&T is well prepared to support international partners in building modern, secure, and sustainable currency solutions.
